  2. You must be retired if you have to ask what it is, or was rather, about. Anyone who has been in the department for a year or more shouldn't need to ask. The main issue in which all of the topics fall under is the complete lack of leadership, vision, and the FC's inability to make a decision. He also will never admit that anything he or his administration has done or said is wrong. He doesn't stand up for his men and he has completely disconnected himself from the field. Nothing anyone says to him, wether it comes from other chief officers or committees that he has selected, is considered in his decision making or lack thereof. It is Creecy way or the highway. Just ask chief wakeham who was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to be at the meeting last night. Lots of stuff will be coming out soon and we are going to educate council on the lack of direction and leadership by our FC and highlight the fiscal irresponsibility of our current administration. The taxpayers deserve to know.

  4. Well said brothers! Standing room only again at the union hall. It is great to see men, women, black, and white standing up together in unity.

  5. Speaking of Chief Wakeham.... He sure would make a good Chief... It's good to see some unity and folks standing up for what is right. Don't give up hope and stick together.

  6. As a taxpayer in the city and a Union Brother in a neighboring jurisdiction, I would like to know.

    1. Dear taxpayer, there is no good place to start so I will just throw some things out there. The quint concept has failed you miserably. The cost of ownership is wasting your tax dollars because of maintenance and constant downtime. The zoll system is wasteful spending. The spending on overtime and using personnel on committees just to have the fire chief totally disregard the recommendations has wasted money. Taking money out of the budget so civilian personnel can have their own uniforms has wasted your tax dollars. Bottom line is the purchase of equipment has been decided at the drop of a hat completely disregarding any committee recommendations. No one at the council, CAO, or the Mayor is pushing to maintain the quint concept. No one in operations is pushing to keep the quint concept. The Deputy Chief of Operations does not want the quint concept. The fire chief is the only one that wants to keep the quint concept. You no-doubt have inside knowledge of the fire service. Sit down with your council person, speak at a council meeting, and write the mayor. As a citizen it's your right to have your voice heard.

  7. Chief Wakeham for Fire Chief in a heartbeat! Chief Cersley as Deputy Chief! What a winning combination! Let's bring this department back to where it should be and where it once was.

You both have my vote sirs.

    Great seeing you Chief Wakeham!

  8. It was a very good meeting. I was very pleased to here what chief wakeham had to say. I was also very pleased with the standing room only for the second time in the same month. I look forward to see standing room only again next month. It is how we can get things done. My name is zack and I approve of this post. Thanks

  9. So with comments like "lack of trust" and "no compassion for the fire fighters", not showing up to the recruit graduation may not have been the best idea. After 22 weeks of hardwork it has to be a little embarrassing to explain to your family why your fire chief was not at your graduation. Real inspirational! Congratulations to the new fire fighters and keep up the good work.
